A Global Media-First: The World's First Motion-Triggered Livestream Campaign

Between May and July 2026, Unilever, AXE, PHD, and GingerLive teamed up on the Axe10 Aurameter campaign, the first livestream advertising activation anywhere in the world to fire ads from automated, motion-based triggers.

Instead of waiting for a keyword or a scheduled break, GingerLive's Streamsense Motion technology watched live streams the way a person would, reading gestures, reactions, and on-screen emotion in real time, then served AXE in the exact second the moment called for it.

Campaign Overview

AXE set out to own the moment of confidence for a young, hard-to-reach male audience that lives inside live, interactive content. Traditional display and rich media formats rarely earn attention in that environment, so AXE needed something that felt native to the stream rather than pasted on top of it.

Running across Kick and Twitch, the Axe10 Aurameter campaign paired GingerLive's brand-new Streamsense Motion triggers with proven Streamsense Audio contextual triggers, letting AXE react to both what streamers said and what they did.

Objectives

1. Turn Real Emotion Into Brand Moments

Reach Gen-Z men when their guard is down and their reaction is genuine, so the brand shows up as part of the fun rather than an interruption.

2. Prove Motion-Based Targeting at Scale

Show that AI can read gestures and emotion across hundreds of concurrent streams and act on them instantly, not just in a lab demo.

3. Move Brand Preference, Not Just Views

Convert livestream attention into measurable brand lift for AXE against a crowded field of competitors.

Technology Spotlight: Streamsense Motion

Real-Time Motion and Sentiment Detection

Streamsense Motion analyzes the live video feed itself, detecting body language, gestures, and shifts in emotion as they happen. It reads the aura of the moment, hence the Aurameter, and turns it into a signal a brand can act on.

From Gesture to Ad Trigger

When the AI recognized a relevant motion or an emotional peak, it instantly activated AXE creative inside the stream: rich media formats, stream-native overlays, and dynamic chat messages that fit the moment. Because the trigger came from the action on screen, the ad landed exactly when it felt earned.

Motion and Audio, Working Together

Axe10 Aurameter was also the first GingerLive campaign to run Streamsense Motion and Streamsense Audio side by side. While Motion read gestures and emotion, Audio listened for contextually relevant keywords, giving AXE two independent, complementary ways to catch the right second.

What Streamsense Detected

Streamsense pinpointed players' most thrilling, successful, and strategic moments and turned each one into a high-impact brand touchpoint. Across the campaign, the real moments it captured broke down like this:

  • Critical Game Moment: 35.2%, the intense phases that decide a match, where AXE reinforced its promise of confidence under pressure

  • Tactical Preparation: 19.3%, the focused planning stage, where AXE earned attention with a memorable brand presence

  • Positive Emotion: 12.3%, moments of success and celebration that strengthened AXE's emotional connection with viewers

  • Round Victory: 11.1%

  • Team Success: 9.1%

  • Successful Action: 7.4%

  • Outstanding Performance: 5.5%

Results & Brand Impact

1. 99.5% of the Live Audience Stayed

GingerLive compared instant viewer counts immediately before and after every ad impression. Thanks to Streamsense's smart triggers, AXE held a 99.5% average retained live audience, connecting with viewers at the exact moment their attention peaked instead of chasing it away.

2. Gestures and Emotion Drove the Clicks

The data made the winning formula obvious. Ranked by click-through rate, emotional reactions and gestures were the strongest conversion drivers in the real-time trigger pool:

  • Gesture: 2.86

  • Emotion: 2.81

  • In-Game Actions: 2.74

  • Win / Victory Moments: 2.29

  • In-Game Situations: 1.52

Reading gestures and facial expressions let AXE go beyond in-game events and show up at the most unforgettable, high-excitement moments of the broadcast.

3. 225% Higher Engagement

Motion-triggered AXE placements drove 225% more engagement than standard display and rich media formats, proof that a well-timed, context-aware ad beats a merely well-placed one.

4. A Decisive Brand Lift

An independent Brand Lift Study told the clearest story of all:

  • 📊 AXE preference before the campaign: 20.4%

  • 📈 AXE preference after the campaign: 36%

  • 🏆 An 80% lead in preference over competing brands

5. The Audience Reacted, Loudly

Because the natural flow of every stream was fully preserved, a genuine emotional bond formed between the audience and the brand. Viewers did not just watch the ad. With authentic reactions praising the product and showing immediate purchase intent, AXE became the main topic of conversation in chat.

Why This Campaign Matters

A New Trigger for Live Advertising

Keyword and schedule-based advertising can only react to words and clocks. By reading motion and emotion, Streamsense Motion opens up a category of moments that were previously impossible to target, and it does so at the speed of live.

  • Brands can react to what people do, not only what they say

  • Ads arrive as part of the entertainment, not on top of it

  • Context replaces cookies as the targeting signal

Conclusion

The Axe10 Aurameter campaign proved that livestream advertising can read the room and act on it in real time. With Streamsense Motion, AXE reached Gen-Z at the peak of genuine emotion, held 99.5% of the live audience, lifted brand preference from 20.4% to 36%, and set a global first that redraws what the right moment means in advertising.

For GingerLive, it is more than a milestone. It is the blueprint for how brands will show up inside live culture next.
